I went t...Hi Julie!<br />(We met at Alan's wedding)<br /><br />I went to Germany in high school to visit some family friends and basically did the same day of touring!<br /><br />I totally remember the long walk up to Neuschwanstein and how specatular it was getting to the top. We too went to Dachau afterward. I was really nervous going into it too, but ultimately was really glad I went (in that weird way). I specifically remember the one barrack that they left standing, but the huge empty field that at one time was filled with barracks. It was pretty surreal. But I was also really encouraged to read some of the stories, and also talk to my German friends and hear how honest they are about that time in their history. Apparently all school take mandatory field trips to concentration camps and are very serious about teaching their students about it.<br /><br />Thanks for posting this.
