Home for a Bit

As much as I love to travel, I'm thrilled to say we're home to stay--at least for a little while. No more big trips planned, like Cabo or a cruise, as of now. You never know when a little trip might sneak up on us, and of course we may head back to the delta one more time before summer's over.

Speaking of which, a few more snapshots from our trip to the delta this week. Starting with last night's dinner:

Mom's delicious salad

Potatoes a la Chris and Ashley--cooked on the grill

Steak grilled by Dad

My berry cobbler -- recipe here (just replace the apples with berries!)

A few miscellaneous shenanigans:
One of our morning walks
New appetizer recipe coming soon!
Watching fireworks after sunset
Eating corn on the cob - not my best photo

For now, though, it's home sweet home. We came home to a tidy apartment, which I love, and tonight we took it easy on dinner and just relaxed with el gato.

Look at that little dude. Adorable.

For dinner, one of my very favorites, a specialty around here, bruschetta, along with some mixed greens (balsamic, feta, olive oil, salt, and pepper) and a lovely chardonnay.

We caught up on one of our favorite TV shows, Franklin and Bash, a hilarious law comedy starring Breckin Meyer (Clueless fans?) and Mark-Paul Gosselaar. We watched it last year also, and we love it. You can find it on TNT. We also walked over to our favorite frozen yogurt place, Twist, which has a new location--a few blocks closer to our apartment! Hooray! We prefer to walk to get our little treat, so it's all the better that we don't have to go quite so far. It's about 0.8 miles away. Not bad at all.
New location!
So many toppings!
Terry's on the left, mine on the right.

Tomorrow we're heading out to visit Terry's grandparents, who live about two hours away. First we'll need to complete a seven-mile training run for our half marathon. We're about halfway through the training program, and we have almost exactly two months to the big day. I'm feeling confident so far, but now the mileage will pick up, so we'll see what happens!

    1. Have I mentioned we have no fewer than FIVE fro yo places in walking distance to our apartment? That's just dangerous!
